Introducing: Tekio Modular Shelving

Life is fluid. Now more than ever, we need modern storage solutions that are adaptive, intuitive and built to last. Our Tekio Modular Shelving System was developed with these three key values in mind, without sacrificing beauty or simplicity. Constructed from quality hardwoods and high-grade aluminum and steel components manufactured in the USA, we’ve taken the classic mid-century extruded rail system and elevated it to our own specifications.

Suited for a variety of environments, our modular shelving system is highly adaptable and can easily grow and adjust with you and your surroundings. People move. Our spaces change — but that shouldn’t mean the products we rely on become obsolete. This considered approach to design allows for incredibly efficient, dynamic interior solutions for your home, studio, office or retail shop. Utilizing a range of unique and functional shelving options, each unit can be configured endlessly with ease.

For the next 30 days, we’re offering special early-bird pricing on the Tekio System to help save you 15% off the retail price, just for supporting our new venture. Please note: because each system is made to order and built by hand here in Portland, Oregon, customers can expect their unit to ship within 4-6 weeks from time of order.

Tekio Modular Shelving

Adaptability, Efficient and Easy

Suited for a variety of environments, our modular shelving system is highly adaptable and can easily grow and adjust with you and your surroundings.  People move.  Our spaces change -- but that shouldn’t mean the products we rely on become obsolete.  This considered approach to design allows for incredibly efficient, dynamic interior solutions for your home, studio, office or retail shop. Utilizing a range of unique and functional shelving options, each unit can be configured endlessly with ease.

From One Bay to Three, Our System, Your Imagination

Most shelving systems are static or present a myriad of challenges to change, but our Tekio Modular Shelving System can be assembled with five easy steps.  Assembly time is measured in minutes, not hours.  Each system is shipped flat-packed and comes with a simple set of tools.  The directions are clear and concise.  We’ve done the work on the front end to design an intuitive system so that you don’t have to work hard putting it together.

A Modern Solution Inspired by Timeless Design

We’re not reinventing the wheel here; we’re simply making it better through thoughtful, timeless design. The soul of our Tekio system is an extruded aluminum frame, a product renowned for its strength, rigidity, versatility and minimal weight.  This material was first utilized in a storage system designed George Nelson in the late 1950’s, but as modularity fell out of fashion and consumers moved towards cheap solutions manufactured overseas, the concept was discontinued.  We recognize the ingenious of Nelson using extruded aluminum in his designs and have brought this concept back to life, developing our own custom components and cabinetry that elevate and modernize this solution for contemporary use. We’re firm believers that you get what you pay for.  And while our system is not inexpensive by any means, it is and investment that will last a lifetime and beyond.

Built to Last In The USA

Our system is built from quality components, made right here in the USA.  We’ve utilized the best aspects of both mass production and handmade manufacturing, coupled with our belief that thoughtful details make all the difference.  From the steel leveling feet and aluminum end caps to the hardwood shelves and cabinets, all of our custom components are manufactured in Portland by trusted vendors.  We’ve relied on these partners for a myriad of other products we’ve brought to market in the past.  They value quality and dependability every bit as much as we do.

As a design company that manufactures much of what we offer in-house, we know a thing or two about taking a product from concept to production.  We have a solid track record. Our local vendors do as well.  But that being said, this is a new product category for us so we realize we may face a few obstacle along the way.  And while we’ve worked closely with our partners to plan production lead times, assembly and packaging / fulfillment in a thoughtful manner, there’s always a chance of material or labor shortages, especially when it comes to the hardwood components.

But our trusted crew of woodworkers still has all digits intact, and barring an injury that depletes that squad, we’re confident we’ve built in enough padding in our fulfillment schedule to mitigate unforeseen challenges.
